SKYPE IT UP

Family: Isn't it about...Skype :)

BIRTHDAY CAKE

When your office forgets your birthday and then has you order your own cake, you get the pleasure of choosing what to write on it. lol Frosting doesn't lie ;)

READING BETWEEN THE SIGNS

New Orleans is one very unique city. It's rich with culture and adventure...which makes it super easy to get lost in all the excitement. Or, as this sign attests, just lost in general.

LASER TAG BIRTHDAY!

Nothing says Happy Birthday quite like shooting your friends with lasers...and so we headed to Adventure Quest to celebrate!

We may be getting older here at the Sigety Home - but that DOES NOT mean we plan on growing up. haha Great friends, laser tag, arcade games, cupcakes, and Kim's personal favorite: DEAL OR NO DEAL!!!

Here's a glimpse of our party :)

ON THE HUNT

After shooting clay pigeons at the gallery, we decided to face the beasts. Beasts being quail and pheasant stocked in the "wilderness" for us to "hunt" haha

Kim decided to watch from the Jeep while the dogs did the seeking, and the John did the shooting. I reckon if John should ever need to kill food for our family, he'll do just fine. (That is if the "beasts" are stocked in our neighborhood and we have a guide to go with us. haha)

Just kidding John - You're one sharp shooter...and the video below proves it!

OH SHOOT!

During the first week of November we headed to a plantation in Mississippi for a company retreat with Kim's coworkers. John rocked the clay pigeons at the shooting gallery and Kim shot a gun for the first time ever. She hit the clay pigeon on her first shot! Awwww yeah! John entered a shooting contest and took 3rd place of all the people at the retreat! That's some sharp shootin' there John Rowe. Way to go!

THE WORLD SERIES WAS NO PIECE OF CAKE

There once were two happy Ranger fans.

Note how they faithfully wear their team paraphernalia...

So happy!

Until the Rangers lost and they had to drown their World Series sorrows with this ice cream cake...

Stomach aches and sadness ensued at the Sigety home. Bad day for baseball - good day for baking.

HALLOWEEN 2010

THE INSPIRATION:

THE COSTUME:

THE REACTION:

3 little kids running up to us and saying "SNUGGIE PEOPLE!" They proceeded to want a picture with us and then ran off saying, "Did you see the Snuggie people?" haha

Halloween has never been more comfortable. Although, this would have been even better in a cooler climate. After walking around downtown New Orleans all night - the Snuggie was definitely more sweaty than snuggly.

SAINTS PRESEASON DEJAVU

Ah, Friday night football in New Orleans - an experience unlike any other! We parked under the highway and made our journey to the Superdome for our now annual Saints preseason game (properly clad in black and gold and beads of course).

Upon arrival, security promptly discovered Kim's Diet Coke hidden in the tampon pocket of her purse. I guess I overestimated my sneakiness. So no caffeine for Kim. Luckily though, there was enough energy (and drunk hilarious people) to keep us awake and cheering the whole night.

So after climbing (literally climbing) to our seats in the VERY top section of the dome - we settled in and John whipped out his nuts. Yes, my baseball man had managed to smuggle in a huge bag of peanuts. Best part? He also brought ziploc baggies to put the shells in. You'll make a great soccer mom John! Here he is proudly showing (and sharing) his snacks...

And here we see the recipients of John's peanuts. He made sure that no one left the game without their fill. I swear this bag of peanuts was like the loaves and the fishes.

We did more than just eat peanuts though, we settled in and watched the game.

...and the creepy Jay Leno-esq Saints mascot.

...and the players

...and the patriotic half-time show! John thought you'd like that Ellen :)

We decided to take a picture together after the drunk girls behind us took a fancy to my peanut eating machine ;) Side note, said girls also spilled jambalaya on my back during the 1st quarter - drunk people do some crazy things!

So we had fun people watching as well as watching the game

Check out how full this place was! New Orleanians don't mess around when it comes to their Super Bowl Champions.

Good times with friends and, you know, 3/4 of the population of New Orleans :) See you again next year Saints!

NACHO NIGHT: THE SEQUEL

There are certain combinations in this life that make people happy. Once such combination? Nachos and Nacho Libre. We did it last year, we did it this year, and who are we kidding? We'll do it again next year.

Our friends Libby and Kacey bought one of those huge nacho cheese cans from Sams Club and we all headed over to watch one of the funniest movies ever - NACHO LIBRE. Wearing festive "stretchy pants" was optional - but that's an option we Sigety's wholeheartedly accepted. Besides, when you're going to eat that many nachos - stretchy pants become more of a necessity than a fashion statement.

The following pictures are for your viewing pleasure.

NAAAAAAAAACCCCCCCCCCHHHHHHHHHHHHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

Ok - And this picture was just too funny not to include. It has awkward written all over it. So rather than describe what was acutally going on, please give your explanations of what's happening in comment form. haha I can't wait to hear what you have to say :)
